Token Efficiency Audit: Independently Verify AI Token Savings Claims

Context compressors, prompt optimizers, caching layers, and agent memory systems all promise huge token savings. AgentVet Lab's new $249 Token Efficiency Audit proves — or disproves — those claims with a verifiable certificate.

Every AI optimization tool on the market right now is claiming dramatic token savings. "70% fewer tokens." "10x cheaper inference." "90% compression with zero quality loss." The numbers sound great. The problem? Almost none of them are independently verified.

That's why we're launching the Token Efficiency Audit — a new $249 product inside AgentVet Lab that independently verifies the token savings claims made by context compressors, prompt optimizers, caching layers, and agent memory systems.

Why This Audit Exists

The token-optimization category is exploding — and so is the marketing. Vendors publish their own benchmarks on their own datasets, using their own definitions of "quality preserved." Buyers are left with three uncomfortable questions:

A vendor-published number can't answer any of these credibly. An independent audit can.

What the Audit Measures

Every Token Efficiency Audit produces three headline metrics, plus a tier verdict:

1. Verified Savings (%)

The actual token reduction measured across a representative workload — not the vendor's hand-picked best case. This is the number you can put in a budget model.

2. Quality Preserved (/10)

A blind quality score comparing the tool's output to the unoptimized baseline. If a compressor saves 60% of tokens but drops quality from 9/10 to 5/10, that's not a win — and the certificate will show it.

3. Sacred Content (PASS / FAIL)

Does the tool leave system prompts, tool/function schemas, safety rules, and other untouchable content intact? A single FAIL here means the tool is unsafe for production regardless of how impressive its savings look.

Tier Verdict

Based on the combined metrics, every audit receives a tier: Verified Elite, Verified, Verified with Notes, or Not Verified. The tier appears on the public certificate.

How the Certificate Works

Like every AgentVet Lab product, the result is a public, verifiable certificate at agentvet.ai/verify/<cert_id> (certificate IDs start with AVLAB-TKN-). Anyone — a CTO, a procurement lead, a developer comparing options — can paste the URL and see:

The page is immutable per ID and explicitly states that AgentVet has no commercial relationship with the audited tool. That independence is what makes the badge worth showing on a landing page or in a sales deck.

Who This Is For

Vendors of optimization tools — context compressors (e.g. sqz, ContextPilot), prompt optimizers, KV-cache layers, agent memory systems — who want a credible third-party number to put on their website instead of an unverifiable internal benchmark.

Buyers and platform teams evaluating these tools who don't have time to build their own benchmark harness but need to de-risk the decision before integrating.

Researchers and analysts who need a citable, reproducible figure rather than a marketing claim.

How to Get Audited

  1. Go to agentvet.ai/lab
  2. Find the Token Efficiency Audit card
  3. Enter your tool or library name and contact email
  4. Pay $249 via Stripe
  5. We run the independent benchmark and issue the certificate at a permanent URL

Turnaround is typically a few business days. The certificate is yours to share — on your site, in your docs, in your pitch deck.

The Bigger Picture

The AI optimization space is becoming the new "performance benchmark" wild west — every vendor charting their own win. The Token Efficiency Audit brings the same independent-verification model that AgentVet Lab applies to agents to the optimization layer underneath them.

If your tool genuinely saves tokens without degrading quality or breaking safety boundaries, an audit is the fastest way to prove it. If it doesn't — better to find out now than after a customer does.
